Why Do We Need to Watch Our Mouth?

I often struggled when watching what comes out from my mouth every day like 'stupid', 'fool', 'palui' or 'sial'. You see, I'm not exactly the type of people who likes to curse like saying the 'F' word when I am angry or anything but believe me, back then, I was way worse than these days. That particular word I used to speak made my family sick and I was lectured intensely by them. And yeah, my Dad could have slapped me if he wanted to. But that was waaay back then. I'm not that girl anymore. But somehow, I can really feel the annoyance when the young teenagers nowadays that curse and say the words that they should not when emotion took their place. It is even worse when they say it like it is not a big deal as they are joking to one another. Believe me, it is a big deal.

Matthew 15:11
What goes into someone’s mouth does not defile them, but what comes out of their mouth, that is what defiles them.”

My Facebook home page are filled with every day youngsters cursing each other. What had happened to the youths? The generation that God seeks to be His missionary to speak the gospel and the good news? Yeah, I was once one of them and I stopped because of my family and yeah, because of God. So, for the people out there, they should be warned how big of a deal it is to say every foul word that they could think of. I feel so blessed that my friends are really watching their mouth now. Of course it is hard since you have said those words for a long time and suddenly you wanted to stop. Of course you may say them accidentally but it is a big leap for my friends asking for each other's help whenever they speak in an inappropriate way. Like my friend, Ernie.. she asked me that whenever she says those words, I must ask her to give me 20 cent as a compound. Hahaha! Ququ and May are also watching their mouth now. I should salute them!

Psalm 141:3
Set a guard over my mouth, LORD; keep watch over the door of my lips.

Proverbs 21:23
Those who guard their mouths and their tongues keep themselves from calamity.

Unwelcomed Guest

Yesterday, I was trying to finish up my Geography folio.. So I brought my laptop down and started doing it. It was when my mum was taking a nap on our couch. As I did my folio, I felt thirsty and then I went to the kitchen to get a glass of water.. I drank it and when I came back from the kitchen.. There was a SNAKE gliding out from under the couch which my mum slept on it. I was so scared and I was totally freaking out and screamed to woke my mum up.. "MAKK!! MAK!! ULAARR!! ULAAAR!!". My mum woke up like a Dracula waking up from a coffin and ran to me lifting her legs up as high as she could. I remember that when my mum woke up, that snake did not even tried to attack her. It was trying to escape. Poor snake.. lost in somebody's house. Probably that snake was afraid too. But we do not know that when we were dead panic! It was so big like the size of an adult's thumb and really long..!! And..and.. it was green ! How can we were not freaking out? And then I followed my mum ran out to get something to beat that snake up.. However, when we went back in, that snake was gone hiding.. I told my mum to call the firemen.. Then we were like..

Mana saya tau nombor telipon bomba!!?
Telefon lah 999!!
Tuaran punya ka tu?
Entah!! Telipon si dady la!! Suruh dia telipon bomba pigi sini!! Dulu si dady pernah telipon kan?
Bah, bah..

Then she called my dad and told what had happened and ask him to call the firemen..

During the time when we waited for the firemen to came, my mum sat down on a chair while I sat down on our coffee table and we did not let both of our feet to touch the floor. I was looking at the direction where the snake went and thinking where was it. When my cat, Garut went to where I was looking at, Garut stopped in front of our other couch and stare at it.. Garut saw something!

Mak, si Garut tinguk tinguk sana sofa, mak..
Bah, barangkali sanalah tu ular tu.

After about 5 minutes, the firemen came.
I told them to check where Garut stared. It turns out that Garut was right! Yeaa!! We're safe! Praise the Lord! The snake had been caught!

After the experience, my mum and I laughed everytime when we talk about it. I don't know why, it was just so funny. The way how I shout.. the way how my mum woke straight up.. the way how we felt weird when the firemen came to our house..
You know, I felt like God had planned it all. When I do my homework, I usually did it upstairs, in my bedroom. But instead, I did it downstairs.. In front of my mum. And that snake came out from under the couch just when I came back in from the kitchen. And when we were not sure where the snake escaped to, Garut came to the rescue! God always protects our family no matter what.
